1:1 with George Couros - June 14th
We have an opportunity to work with George Couros 1:1 or 1:2 to further your skills and knowledge using technology. You set the agenda by letting him know what you want to learn. Please let me know if you are interested in having some time with George. We will have a sub come into your classroom for when you are with George. Please let me know by Monday, June 3rd. CAVE - June 14th - Wrap-Up - Paws for Thoughts!
During the gym time scheduled for this morning (Day 5), the CAVE team will take the grade level to have "Mini-Cave" wrap-up sessions. Purpose: Collect data on CAVE initiative and to help set direction for next year. Teacher/Class responsiblity before June 14th:
1. Cut out, and write personal reflection on what was learned in CAVE this year. (Paw sheets have been placed in the staff room. Please take what you need.) Teachers may need to lead this discussion to get it started but we'd really like to have students answer as individually as possible.
2. Bring your class down to the gym with every student having their pawprint and a glue stick (or arrangement of who they are sharing with).
3. Lead discussion with small grade group

Professional Development 2013-2014
We will be changing how PLCs are structured next year. On May 10th we started the process of renewal - exploration, growth & development, and perhaps initiatives that need to be released (refer to charts in staff room). Please think about what you see as need in professional growth for yourself, your grade level and our school. Staff is encouraged to continue to add notes onto the charts as discussions dictate.
On June 28th, we will start our preliminary grouping of what PLCs could look like. Please consider:

Opportunity -Finding Flexibility in Professional Development - Feedback is welcomed!
Just a reminder to continue to be professional in your attire. The saying of "if you would wear to the beach or in the garden, then you should probably not wear it to work" continues to be a good guideline.
Students - We encourage our students to dress modestly and safely (high heels on the playground do inhibit running and cause twisted ankels). Please remember that parents choose what their children are wearing so may feel judged if you voice your opinion on apparel. If you have any concerns, please let me know.
Supporting students
With year end, there are many activities that while fun can be stressful for our students. Please plan accordingly and let us know if you require extra assistance at any time.
Students using electronics

Gymnastics -A go!- basketball has been cancelled as of May 27th - June 7th. Mats can be set up now.
Staffing - Welcome back Christy! Nicole Wade will not be returning for the remainder of the year.
Phys. Ed. Storage Room -A mess!
Students should not be in the storage room without direct supervision by teachers.
Storage room - A Clean Up Day us planned for June 11th to go through the Phys. Ed equipment and to make room for new stage and risers. Seasonal equipment will be stored in another area.
